Growing potatoes in a bucket year round
Well its a new year and we were cleaning up the cupboards and found some sprouting potatoes. This is a great chance to not waste food and create more from essentially nothing. start with a bucket and fill 1/4 with potting soil. We like to mix some sand in with our soil to make it easier to pull up when the plant has matured. When you have a good layer of soil at the bottom you can put your sprout down on top like shown:
Cover with about 1″ of soil. you want the plant to sprout through and then keep covering till full. We will post updates as they grow to show you what we mean.
Set aside in your indoor garden. they don’t need much light at this point. when the sprouts have lifted about 2″ above ground we will cover with soil again.
